Woodall Rensimer Welcomes New Partner Matt McFarlane

Matthew “Matt” McFarlane has joined Woodall Rensimer as a partner supporting the firm’s Business and Corporate Law Department. He is responsible for advising the firm’s clients on a wide range of transactional matters.


McFarlane is a resident of The Woodlands, a suburb of Houston. He has more than 16 years of business and legal experience. Adept at navigating complex legals matters, McFarlane focuses his practice on counseling clients with general corporate and business transactional matters, complex mergers and acquisitions, leveraged finance transactions, and real estate matters.

McFarlane worked for over 15 years in executive leadership positions with businesses whose revenues ranged from $5 million to $500 million. He previously served as president and general counsel for a venture studio that specialized in starting and scaling companies across various industries. He also served as general counsel and chief operations officer for a cryogenic services corporation and a fast-growing commercial construction company.

McFarlane earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University at College Station in 2004 and a Juris Doctorate degree from South Texas College of Law in 2008. He is licensed to practice in all state courts in the State of Texas. He is also a member of the Texas Bar Association and The Woodlands Bar Association.

When he is not working, McFarlane enjoys Extreme Endurance athletic activities and playing the guitar and violin. A multiple-time Ironman and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt, McFarlane was named the Ironman Volunteer Captain of the year in 2015.
